We can talk briefly about what you are looking for and/or my approach to therapy. This can allow us both to judge if it's a good fit. You can also text or email me and ask questions.
I'll get a little history from you and get some detailed information about your struggles. I may describe what therapy will look like. We may discuss goals and make a plan. (Either in person or Telehealth). We might only need a 60 minute initial session, depending on your needs and diagnostic history.
(Either in person or Telehealth).
An option maybe a bit later in the course of therapy, or if there are time constraints, or maybe that's all we need or want. (Either in person or Telehealth).
An option if that's all we need, maybe to check in on progress. Sometimes this is a good option for kids who have trouble tolerating a longer time period. (Either in person or Telehealth).
You can cancel anytime if you or your child is sick, or if you need to take care of a sick family member. It's not good for you to do therapy while sick and I don't want to catch or spread anything if you come in person.
With less than 24 hours of notice for cancellation or a no-show without contacting me (such as forgetting you had a session), I'll charge $25 the first time this happens. If it happens again, I will charge you the full fee for the session.
If you need me to write a letter or fill out other documentation, or spend time compiling and sending records, I'll keep track of how long it takes and charge based on the time spent. I'll charge $20 per 10 minutes (if it takes less than 10 minutes I won't charge you anything).
